Husband & Dad
Steve and Jen Surine met at their home church and were married in June, 2006. After a years long struggle with infertility and loss, they were blessed with their son Jack in 2014. Then, after another season of infertility, they had Jude in 2019. Steve and Jen love to use their story to encourage and inspire other couples working through similar struggles.
Pastor
Steve is passionate about teaching the Bible in creative and fresh ways in order to help people grow in their love for God and for each other. In addition to teaching he has worked in youth, college, worship, small groups, and guest services ministries. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Christ Community Church in Peotone, IL. Steve earned his Master of Divinity in 2009 from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
Writer
Steve is a gifted writer and holds a bachelors in Journalism and Creative Writing from Western Michigan University. These skills come in handy for writing sermons, but he also enjoys other writing endeavors such as journaling, blogging, and writing fiction.
Runner
Steve loves to stay active and his exercise of choice is long distance running. He runs 3-5 days a week and occasionally enters road races. He ran his first marathon in 2014 and is itching to run another. He also enjoys others ways of staying active including biking, softball, basketball, and other sports.
